- Spend their full work week in the field
- Recruit new clients
- Take loan applications and support prospective clients in creating basic business plans
- Sensitise clients regarding the organisation’s rules and procedures
- Disburse loans and collect repayments
- Monitor clients’ business performance and general development, resolve group tensions and ensure a healthy loan portfolio
- Administer all portfolio transactions in the organisation’s online administration system
- Keep accurate financial records of the zone
- Actively participate in weekly conference calls with the Dutch management team
- Suitable candidates should have an academic degree (such as finance, commerce or business administration) and preferably one to three years of relevant work experience.
- Candidates should be enthusiastic about working in a rural setting and able to effectively communicate with both uneducated villagers and the international management team.
- Candidates should be fluent in both Luganda (spoken) and English (written and spoken). We expect our loan officers to be able to work independently and pro-actively with limited supervision.
- Successful candidates have good computer skills and are able to work effectively with Microsoft office, email and other internet applications.
