a wide range of postal, logistical, IT, and financial services in Uganda, with
international links to all major postal administrations world-wide.
Officer will support the Manager, Legal Services to manage legal affairs of the
Company and adequately defend the Organization and maintain a vibrant
legal/secretarial image.
- Provide legal advice relating to civil
dispute and criminal cases, locate, interview and guide witnesses - Conduct legal research for preparation of
court cases in which the Organization has an interest - Provide necessary information to external
lawyers for proper conduct and management of court case in which the
Company has interest, attend court sessions an assist in trials - Represent the Company in courts of law and
tribunals - Represent the Company in any labor
disputes in line with the Human Resource guidelines and policies for the
Company - Prepare legal documents on instruction of
the supervisor - Interpret legal documents and enlighten staff
on relative legal affairs - Prepare and submit weekly, monthly and
quarterly reports to the Supervisor - Attend meetings of all relevant Management
committees in the absence of the Legal Services - Attend to correspondences as assigned
- Perform any other task as assigned from
time to time
- Concluding outstanding court cases
- Submit reports on milestones registered
Experience:
- The applicant should possess an Honours’
Bachelor of Laws (LLB) Degree - A Diploma in Legal practice is required
too - Enrolled advocate of the High Court
- Two (2) years’ relevant working experience
- Good communication, organization and
public relations skills - Good knowledge of basic computer
applications - Demonstrable proficiency in Legal research
