Bookkeeper/Administrative Assistant.
Washington DC based international consulting firm, seeks qualified candidates
to fill four full-time driver positions on the USAID/ Uganda Feed the Future
Commodity Production and Marketing Activity. The USAID/Uganda Commodity
Production and Marketing Activity is a five year Activity that seeks to provide
technical support towards sustainable production and marketing of high quality
beans, maize and coffee in the 34 Feed the Future focus districts in Uganda.
The Activity will contribute towards achieving USAID Feed the Future’s twin
objectives of reducing poverty and under-nutrition by increasing the quantity
and quality of coffee, maize, and beans produced and marketed by smallholder
farmers.
Job Summary: The main responsibilities are driving and maintaining the
project vehicles and assisting the regional Bookkeeper/Administrative Assistant
with carrying out day to day office administrative work in the regional office.
- Drive
assigned vehicle on scheduled field trips and other driving assignments as
required. - Maintain
the trip log each time the vehicle is used, including: daily mileage, fill
ups, oil changes, etc. - Support
monthly vehicle performance analyses and reports generation - Initiate and supervise routine periodic maintenance
of assigned vehicle. - Initiate
vehicle insurance renewals and licensing. - Ensure
the safety of the passengers and provide driving in compliance with all
Ugandan traffic laws - Ensure
that the steps required by rules and regulations are taken in case of
involvement in an accident. - Maintain
clean, smoke-free and safe project vehicles - Assist
with management of the front desk as needed - Perform
day to day clerical work in the regional office including photocopying and
binding of official documents - Provide
logistical support to the technical teams during field based
activities. - Dispatch
official documents as required
- The
Drivers should possess at least five years working experience on a busy
program - Ability
to understand and follow safety procedures - Knowledge
of basic vehicle inspection and maintenance including tyre pressure,
checking oil and water levels - Ability
to safely and efficiently operate a loaded passenger vehicle - Possess
a Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record - Self-motivated,
innovative and able to work under tight time constraints - Attention
to details and follow through on assigned duties - Experience
working on donor funded programs is added advantage
