Agricultural Research Organization (NARO)

Reports to: PARI Director
by the National Agricultural Research Act 2005 as a body corporate responsible
for the coordination and oversight of all aspects of agricultural research in
Uganda. The Director General, NARO invites suitably qualified Ugandans to apply
for the following positions at NARO Secretariat and Public Agricultural Research
Institutes (PARls).
- Examining records of
various departments and projects to ensure proper recording of financial
transactions at Zonal Agricultural Research Institutes (ZARDIs). - Monitoring purchase of
equipment and materials to ensure that all transactions conform to
approved procurement procedures. - Monitoring recruitment
and selection of staff to ensure that all appointments conform to approved
human resource policies and procedures. - Analyzing deficiencies
in management controls, duplication of effort, extravagance, fraud or
irregularities against approved management policies. - Assessing Risks and
advising on Risk management. - Conducting special
duties to discover fraudulent methods and techniques and to develop controls
for fraud prevention. - Preparing reports and
findings to the Director and NARO, Head of Internal Audit.
- The candidates must
possess a good degree in Commerce, Business Administration with bias in
Accounting or Finance. - Candidates should have
at least three (3) years of auditing experience in a reputable
organization.
