Limited is seeking to recruit a suitably qualified candidate to fill the
following vacancy in the Commercial Banking unit of Business Banking.
Head, Commercial Banking
Job Summary: The Manager
will play a role in shaping the function playing a role in oversight of
liquidity risk working closely with Asset liability management.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Conduct daily risk reporting, analysis and
    commentary including weekly review of back testing failures. This includes
    VaR measurement, VaR proxy decisions, collating of historic data,
    discussion of risk positions reviewing of limits based on liquidity,
    design and implementation of appropriate market risk reports, reporting to
    ALCO, Economic capital reporting etc.
  • Ensuring the accuracy of the Mark-to-market
    pricing models and liaison with Market risk methods for assistance on
    quantitative matters.
  • Limit and trigger monitoring. Profit and Loss
    attribution analysis, provision reporting, price verification and liaison
    with Finance on reconciliation of reported results.
  • Reviewing and stress testing the bank’s risk
    profile to ensure that businesses stay within allocated limits.
  • Offer support in the establishment and
    maintenance of the banks internal model applications (including acting as
    an interface to Uganda central bank on Market risk regulation matters
  • Supporting the bank’s ‘New Product  Process’ by participating in all  the ‘New Product roll outs’
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The
    candidate should possess full accounting professional qualification i.e.  ACCA and/or Quantitative degree
  • Two
    to three years post university work experience.
  • Exposure
    to treasury/derivative products, project management and IT will be
    beneficial.
  • A
    good understanding of the objectives and operations of Market Risk
    Department or ALM Department would be an advantage
  • Good
    understanding of the products traded in a treasury/derivative environment
    and the treasury processes (front office, middle office, back office,
    risk).
  • Ability
    to multi task, network and to be able to communicate with people at
    different levels. Analytical, with good planning and problem solving
    skills
  • Be
    strategic as well as an operational thinker and implementer
