About MFPED:
The Ministry of Finance Planning and Economic
Development (MFPED) has received funding from UNDP, under the project
“Strengthening the Capacity for Evidence-Based Analytical Studies that
Promote Human Development and the MDGs in Uganda”, to support the
activities of the Economic Development Policy and Research Department
(EDP&RD).

Key Duties and
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- Conducting quantitative analysis of available household survey data to
examine socio-economic trends in the country. - Analysing the economic impact of Government Policies and Programmes.
- Contributing towards the production of analytical reports/briefs on
GoU’s budgetary allocations and expenditures in relation to poverty
reduction and social development. - Providing managerial and administrative support in the implementation
of the project and its dissemination activities.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant should possess a Masters degree in Economics, Economics
and Statistics, Development Economics, or Quantitative Economics. - Theoretical and practical understanding in the use of econometrics for
policy purposes. - Proficient knowledge of MS Office Applications, particularly MS Excel.
- Knowledge in the use of STATA for statistical data analysis is a must
and will be tested at interview stage. - Good understanding and knowledge of interactions between fiscal
policy, monetary policy and implications for broader macroeconomic
management. - Knowledge of and use of Computable General Equilibrium Models (CGEs)
will be an added advantage.
