Coordinator position is a part time position on a USAID funded program through
April of 2015. The Finance Coordinator will be responsible and accountable for
the performance of the administrative and financial functions of Global Communities
in a field office in accordance with the Global Communities Field Finance and
Accounting Manual.
- Ensure
compliance with Global Communities practices as outlined in the Global
Communities Field Finance and Accounting Manual. - Send
monthly financial reports along with the QuickBooks file to the Finance Department
in the head office. - Prepare
monthly cash projections for the submission of monthly drawdown requests
to head office. - Manage
petty cash fund, dispensing funds upon written authorization of the
Director or his/her designee. Analyze all invoices and receipts; ensure
the coding of all transactions and reconciliation of petty cash on a
weekly basis. - Serve
as financial liaison with vendors, consultants, sub-grantees and others
doing business with Global Communities as necessary. - Review
all purchase orders, consultant agreements, sub-awards and other
commitments issued. - Receive,
review and analyze all Global Communities payment vouchers; ensure proper
documentation, including cost center is attached and submit for check
request. - Maintain
all accounting and procurement filing systems/ documentation. - Assist
in planning and coordinating the administrative and financial services
required for managing the Global Communities projects in field, with
particular reference to accounting, budget, personnel, and other admin/
finance-related processes, and in accordance with Global Communities
regulations and established procedures. - Implement
and maintain administrative procedures for office support, including
working with the Global Communities Rwanda Finance and HR offices and
related systems. - Assist
with any other duties as required by Field Director.
- The
applicant should possess an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in related
field, preferable in Accounting, Finance or Business Management, OR post
secondary education and accounting certification training - Five
years of financial management experience. - The
candidate should possess excellent communication skills; - Proven
ability to work in a multicultural context as a flexible and respectful
team player. - Excellent
organizational skills and ability to determine priorities. - Capable
of working under pressure and is results-oriented with the ability to meet
deadlines. - Ability
to prepare clear and concise reports. - Demonstrated
computer and typing skills; - Excel
and WinWord skills are essential. - Proficiency
in use of accounting software at least five years of hands-on experience,
preferable, QuickBooks - Fluency
in spoken and written English.
Ability and willingness to live, work and travel within Bushenyi region. Submit
proof of qualification and experience where applicable.
