Title: Metering Asset Manager
Reports to: Chief Technical
Officer
listed on the Uganda and Nairobi Securities Exchange, with Actis’
Infrastructure 2 fund as a majority investor. Actis is a leading investor in
the emerging markets, managing over US$4.8bn worth of investment on behalf of
more than 100 institutional investors, including the Commonwealth Development
Corporation (CDC), a UK Government owned company.
Job Summary: The Metering Asset
Manager will offer management of acquisition, maintenance and retirement of all
of Umeme’s Metering assets nationally
Responsibilities:
- Development of a “cradle
to grave” Metering Asset Management culture in Umeme including
acquisition, installation, maintenance Disposal and control by use of
Meter Management System in its entirety - Strategic planning for
Umeme’s Meter portfolio including international meter technology
developments, Umeme meter performance, market environment - Acquisition, validation
and deployment of meters in a timely fashion to meet customer and business
needs - Development and
Management of Meter Acceptance protocols - Principle Meter Supplier
checking - Development and
management of meter accuracy testing programmes - Development and
management of meter replacement programme - Development and
management of Meter Fraud prevention programmes - Development and
management of Meter Installation processes to ensure best customer service
and efficiency in delivery - Delivering all programmes
throughout the country through local management and teams - Reflecting legal and
regulatory compliance in Metering Asset lifecycle planning and management
including Uganda National Bureau of Standards and Electricity
Skills and Experience:
- The candidate should
possess a degree in Electrical Engineering with 7 (seven) years experience
in the Metering Management Arena
Additional post graduate qualification ideally in Engineering or in
Management - Significant experience in
a Utility environment , recent significant management experience - Strong analytical,
technical and financial skills - Strong communications and
presentation skills - Good performance
orientation and ability to get people and teams to perform and deliver
