Uganda Virus Research Institute (MRC/UVRI) Uganda Research Unit on AIDS is
seeking experienced and suitably qualified Ugandans for the following posts on
an Enhanced Prevention project for improving the effectiveness of HIV
prevention and care and treatment services in Uganda for women and their
regular partners at high risk of HIV and other STIs. This project is funded by
funded by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Uganda under the
U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and other donor
agencies.
Job Summary: The Data Manager will offer technical support to the
Scientists in the design and implementation of monitoring, evaluation and
reporting systems to ensure that the project provides compatible data
supportive of program and donor requirements.
- The job holder will responsible for
developing and implementing methodologies and standards for evaluating
program activities - Offer support to the scientists in the
preparation of detailed implementation plans which are consistent with the
project objectives and expected outputs and support monitoring and implementation
of the approved plan - Assist in setting up a reporting and
tracking system to provide information in an efficient and timely manner - Analyse and aggregate M&E data,
develop written reports based on evaluation findings - Perform routine quality control checks for
completeness, consistency and accuracy and raise queries to ensure data is
clean - Ensures that clinic data collected
captures MEEP/ PEPFAR indicators. - Ensures proper storage and filing of
project documents and data.
- The Data Manager should possess a degree
in statistics, Economics, development studies. - At least two years’ experience evaluating
HIV/AIDS services. - Additional training in project planning
and management - Knowledge of national policies relating to
HIV/AIDS is an added advantage. - Extensive knowledge of computer based
applications especially statistical packages, databases, spread sheets and
power point. - Good interpersonal and team building
skills are desirable. - Strategic planning skills desirable.
