FHI 360 — Uganda is seeking qualified candidates for the Communication
for Healthy Communities (CHC) five year program designed to support the GOU and
partners to design and implement quality heath communication interventions to
contribute to reduction in HIV Infections, total fertility, maternal &
child mortality, malnutrition, malaria & tuberculosis. CHC aims to achieve
this through the use of innovative approaches, capacity strengthening,
increased collaboration among partners, and rigorous research and knowledge
management for health communication.

Job Summary: The
Finance/Administrative Assistant shall offer financial, operational,
sub-granting and administrative support for the regional office, working
closely with the Regional Technical Officer and Regional Communications
Officer.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Actively participate in the screening
process during sub-grantee selection. - Assist with financial capacity assessments
of potential sub-grantees and partners. - Provide monitoring and support to local
sub-grantees and ensuring that funds are efficiently and effectively
utilized as per grant agreements. - Review sub-grantee financial reports and
ensuring that disbursements and outstanding advances are closely
monitored. - Process payments for vendors and
participant allowances during regional activities. - Maintain, reconcile and replenish a cash
float for daily regional operational expenses. - Ensuring office and other assets are
safely maintained, in line with FHI360 requirements. - In
liaison with relevant staff, initiate and co-ordinate travel itinerary,
hotel reservations and other travel logistics for regional office visitors
and consultants. - Supervise regional driver and ensure
vehicle fuel and mileage log is filled and up to date at all times - Perform any other duties as instructed
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
- The applicant should possess a Bachelors
Degree of Commerce, Business Administration. Finance or Accounting, or
related field. - The candidate should possess a minimum of
three years of relevant experience in finance, grants or audit. - Computer proficiency i.e. knowledge of MS office
including excel, word and power point. - Should possess an ability to work under
pressure and with minimum supervision
