improve the quality of life of the informal sector communities through
interventions that mitigate the impact of disease, promote sustainable
development and empower communities to champion their own development. With
support from the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, DII is implementing
Strengthening HIV/AIDS Response in Market Communities (SHAREM) project in Lira,
Mbale and Mbarara Districts. Also with support from AIDS Healthcare Foundation/
Uganda Cares, DII is working with the same partner to implement HIV/ AIDS
activities in Small, Rakai, Kampala and Wakiso Districts.
- Implementing project activities in market
communities in accordance with the organizational work plan. - Collaborate with the market management,
project officers and the liaison officers to ensure smooth implementation
of project activities and timely feedback on project progress. - Offer support supervision to peer
educators and community based organizations and associations.
- The applicant should possess a Bachelors
Degree in Social Work and Social Administration, Development studies, Social Sciences or any other related field. - Strong administration and management
skills and ability to work with minimum supervision. - Excellent interpersonal and communication
skills - Good Computer literacy skills,
particularly MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. - Ability to speak and read the local
language in the location of interest will be an added advantage - Experience in carrying out similar work
will be an added advantage.
