Director
Job Summary: The Program Manager – Partnership and Membership
Services
will ensure that:
  • UCRNN members
    effectively and proactively engage in advancing the child rights agenda at
    all levels both individually and collectively.
  • The work of UCRNN
    members and other child rights actor is visible, coordinated and is
    adequately supported.
  • Child rights issues
    and concerns are well articulated within the agendas of other national,
    regional and international networks and platforms.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Membership Services:
  • Strengthen the
    capacity of UCRNN members to deliver appropriate services to children.
  • Create and maintain
    platforms for UCRNN members to engage, share information and resources to
    ensure more harmonized interventions / coordinated approaches to
    addressing child rights issues in the country.
  • Identify and
    communicate Information on opportunities for engagement on relevant child
    rights issues at various levels
  • Establish and maintain
    linkages with resource systems / development partners to ensure adequate
    and accessible resources to support child rights NGOs 
  • Create and maintain
    avenues that  ensure the visibility of members’ work
  • Support and
    participate in the activities of member organizations 
  • Support the programme
    development Manager and Executive Director to mobilize resources for the
    Secretariat   
  • Facilitate the
    participation of UCRNN members in the governance of the Network including
    providing strategic direction to the Network
2. Partnership
  • Promote collective
    actions and initiatives within and between members as well as other
    institutions and organizations on key child rights issues.
  • Establish/maintain
    linkages with other Networks and coalitions at national, regional and
    international levels to promote the child rights agenda.
  • Establish and maintain
    linkages with the private sector to mobilize support for the promotion of
    the child rights agenda.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
  • The applicant should hold a Bachelor’s
    degree in Social Sciences, SWSA, Development Studies, Mass Communication,
    and other human rights related fields. A post graduate qualification in
    any of the above fields is preferred.
  • At least three years of relevant experience
    in a position that involves working with partnerships, coalitions or
    membership organizations within the NGO sector.
  • Middle to senior level managerial
    experience of not less than 2 years
  • At least 2 years’ experience in
    organizational capacity strengthening
