the Provisions of Article 51 (1) of the Constitution of the Republic of Uganda,
its legal mandate. functions and powers are also enshrined in the UHRC Act of
1997. The main function of the Commission is to protect and promote Human
Rights, Civic Obligations, Constitutionalism and respect for the rule of law.
The Commission would like to strengthen its human resources capacity by
recruiting dynamic and self motivated individuals to complement its current
staff in the implementation of its mandate as a National Human Rights
institution.
Procurement Officer will effectively and efficiently handle the procurement and
disposal requirements of the Commission
- The job holder leads the Procurement and
Disposal Unit of the Commission - Works with end-users to compile all procurement
requirements of the Organization - Guides the suppliers on procurement
procedures - Verifies all documentation relating to
procurement and organizes the documentation for easy use by all interested
parties - Liaises with Accounts to ensure
availability of procurement funds and timely payments to suppliers
Experience:
- The applicant should hold a Degree in
Procurement/Purchasing and Supplies or a Bachelors Degree in any of the
following discipline: Business Administration or Commerce (Procurement and
Supplies option) OR Level 6 (Graduate Diploma in CIPS Professional
qualifications from the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply
(CIPS) - The Senior Procurement Officer should have
five or more years of experience in procurement work from a reputable
organization is required - Excellent track records and testimonials
from the previous employers are required - Good interpersonal communication skills
- Training on the new PPDA procedures
- Good ICT skills
- Minute writing skills
- Report writing skills
