regional importers.. In 2012, Lafarge accounted for 40% of the Uganda Market,
The job holder is tasked to drive the business to achieve 50% market share in
2013. This is the strategic intent of the group for the year and going forward.
Job Summary:  The Operations Data Analyst is
responsible for analyzing plant performance, supporting the overall plant
production efficiency and cost optimization.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Ensures accuracy of
    SAP postings in the FI/CO module.
  • Generates
     accurate, relevant  and timely managements reports (COP,
    Operating report, CKHC and Progress Plans)  in line with the group
    guidelines
  • Challenges results on
    plant key performance indicators for corrective action.
  • Oversees the petty
    cash office and ensures proper accountability of disbursements.
  • Evaluates, challenges
    the bulky raw materials requirements and monitors movements to ensure
    working capital optimization.
  • Coordinates the
    monthly and year end bulky raw material stock taking exercises, including
    the chairing of all related meetings.
  • Puts together the
    preliminary budget and forecasts for management review 
Key Performance Areas:
  • Effective support to
    the annual budget delivery of approximately 500,000 tons of clinker,
    880,000 tons of cement and expenditure of Euro 75m.
  • Effective support to
    inventory management of approximately Euro 20m annually.
  • Relevant, timely and
    accurate report generation in line with group guidelines.
  • Petty cash control and
    accountability as per company policies.
  • Accurate preliminary
    budgets and forecasts.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
  • The candidate should
    possess a university degree preferably in an Accounting, Industrial
    Chemistry or Engineering course.
  • A professional
    qualification with an acknowledged accounting body such as ACCA, CPA or
    equivalent.  
  • A minimum of 3 years
    work experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Good analytical skills
    and the ability to pay attention to detail.
  • Basic cement process
    knowledge
  • SAP and intermediate
    knowledge of Microsoft office applications 
  • Planning and
    organization
  • Leadership
  • Management of cross
    functional teams
  • Reporting
  • Effective
    communication.
  • Assertiveness and
    attention to detail.
