the industrial and economic development of Uganda, was revived with the mandate
to facilitate the industrial and economic development of Uganda as the
investment arm of Government.
- Provide legal advice to the CEO and other
UDC Staff on all UDC matters; - Participate in negotiations on UDC
business partnership ventures and in any other UDC negotiations; - Prepare agreements and other legal
documents for UDC; - Provide legal advice on domestic and
foreign resource mobilization; - Prepare legal briefs and memoranda for
UDC; - Participate in negotiations concerning the
Corporation’s business and attend meetings on behalf of the Corporation; - Ensure that the Corporation’s legal
documents and agreements are compliant with the Law so as to minimise legal risk; - Participate in orientation of new staff,
coach, mentor and supervise the work of other staff in legal department - Participate in formulation of internal
policies and update the company legal policy in accordance with the applicable laws and to formulate internal
procedures on legal processes; - Perform any other work for the Corporation
that may be assigned from time to time.
Experience:
- The applicant should hold a Bachelors
degree (Honours) in Law from a recognized University/Institution - Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice
- Three or more years working experience in
a related field - Registration with Uganda Law Society
- Valid practicing certificate
- Good knowledge of company and Law of
Contract - Reasonable experience in legal practice
- Attention to details, highly analytical
and organized - Good judgement and reliable decision
making
