select provinces within Uganda. The proposed positions are contingent on Save
the Children being awarded the Cooperative agreement for this five year USAID-funded
project Uganda Advocacy for Better Health.
Job Summary: The Finance and
Grants Manager will provide technical support in Finance and Grants management.
S/he will be responsible for all financial matters in overseeing all the
procurement and donor (USAID) compliance including the pre-award surveys for
various partners under the project. S/he will support the Chief of Party in the
review of grant awards for responsibility, determination, cost realism,
regulatory compliance and risk analysis and mitigation.
Experience:
- The applicant should possess a Master’s
Degree or higher in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or other
relevant field. The applicant should be a certified chartered accountant: - S/he must possess at least eight (8)
years’ experience in administrative and financial management of large
donor projects; - Experience in auditing and accounting,
grants and fund management; - Demonstrated experience and skills in
developing and managing large budgets: - Proficient in relevant computer
applications and databases; and strong analytical, oral and written
communication skits; and capacity building support, - S/he should have skills and experience in
the appraisal and evaluation of proposals and monitoring of grants - Demonstrated record of successfully
managing grants for donor funded programs is essential; - S/he shall have experience in capacity
building of sub grantee organizations and in financial and forensic audits
of donor-funded projects and programs; She shall possess management and
communication skills.
