(ACF) is an International Humanitarian NGO. For over thirty years it has been
implementing Food Security and Livelihoods, Nutrition, Water, Sanitation and
Hygiene programs in Lira, Apac, Oyam, Otuke, Gulu, Kaabong, Napak and Moroto
Districts. ACF is looking for an Income Generating Activity Officer ACF
for its Food security and Livelihoods Projects in Kaabong and Napak
districts of Karamoja.
Surveillance Assistant Program Manager participates in the implementation of
the survey. The Assistant Program Manager assists the line manager in planning,
implementation, and reporting of survey activities. Participation and ownership
by DHOs and other stakeholders of the project is crucial to the success of the
project.
Responsibilities:
- Manage
the collection of background information (population, geographical,
accessibility, security, health, food security, water, sanitation, and
hygiene) in collaboration with DHO and other partners. - Facilitate
district surveillance officers in developing and using project work plans.
- In
collaboration with line manager, DHO and other partners, he/she should
participate in identifying locations (parishes/ villages/livelihood zones)
where the nutrition surveillance activities will be carried out. - Train
the surveillance officers on survey methodology and coordination of field
activities. - In
collaboration with DHO identify and follow up invitation of training
participants. - Ensure
the data entering process and outcome is of quality in all districts. - In
collaboration with the program manager participate in data analysis and
reporting - Liaise
with DHO and ACF to ensure a good logistic system that leads to efficient implementation
of activities. - In
collaboration with DHO focal persons, supervise data collection while
paying attention to respect of methodology and taking of accurate
measurements. - Technically
support the surveillance officers to take lead role in organization and
discussion of surveillance results through coordination meetings. - Assist
the program manager in writing survey report.
and Experience:
- The
applicant should hold a First degree in Nutrition, community health or
statistics. - Two
or more years experience in nutrition surveillance or in a related area. - Good
competence in using programs such as ENA for SMART, SPSS, and MS Office - Report
writing, communication, team spirit, community participation, good
knowledge of Karamoja region and management skill is a plus - Fluent
written and spoken English. - Knowledge
of Ngakarimojong an asset;
