Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop, produce and present periodic
financial reporting statements for the Company, for both internal and
external requirements. - Adhere to the company accounting policies,
practices, procedures, the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
and other legal/statutory/regulatory requirements. - Assist in designing, documenting,
implementing and monitoring the appropriate internal controls to deliver
sound financial management. - Manage receivables and payables.
- You will partner with the Operations Manager,
and the Marketing team on issues related to financial analysis and
projections. - Maintain and update the Fixed Asset
Register. - Provide periodic key insights into the
condition of business, cash flow positions and investment portfolios. - Ensure costs are within approved budget.
- The Accountant will also be involved in
preparation of annual budgets. - Arrange and co-ordinate annual audits with
external auditors within the time frame as required by the regulatory
bodies. - Perform any other related official duties
as may be assigned by the Financial Controller.
Qualifications, Skills &
Experience:
Experience:
- The Accountant should possess a University
degree in Finance and /or Accounting. - Five or years experience in a senior
management financial experience.
Additional Professional Accounting qualification prerequisite (Full CPA
and / or ACCA). - MBA in Finance and /or accounting is an
added advantage. - Demonstrates experience in financial
governance. - Good knowledge and understanding of the
Insurance environment within and outside Uganda.
