Title: Senior Grants Manager
Station: Kampala, Uganda
EWMI:
Institute (EWMI) is seeking qualified experts for a an upcoming five-year
USAID-funded program in Uganda that will work to support national-level
organizational structures that uphold respect for human rights and the rule of
law. The program will focus on three primary areas: (1) supporting an
independent judiciary, (2) fostering advocacy, and (3) advancing the flow of
information. These are long-term positions and offer generous benefits
packages.
Summary: The Senior
Grants Manager will be responsible for proper implementation and functionality
of the grants program.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- The
job holder will conduct monitoring of the entire grant management process
and ensuring proper compliance with USAID regulations, the grant
objectives and requirements in the RFA. - The
Senior Grants Manager will ensure that the Recipient develops results,
indicators and targets as well as an annual work plan, which reflect the
objectives of the grants program. Working with the COP, component managers
and financial manager(s), oversee financial reporting and selection of
applications to ensure conformity with the grants program criteria,
including the implementation of sub-Recipient capacity building
(technical, organizational and financial management).
Skills and Experience:
- The
applicant should possess a Master’s degree in project management,
financial and organization management or in a related discipline such as
social science is highly preferred and preferably have experience
in the developing country context. - At
least five years of experience managing and administering U.S. Federal
grants and/or contracts. - Possess
excellent analytical skills to identify and assess credibility of organizations
eligible of grants. - Experience
working with USG supported projects and knowledge of financial rules and
regulations, including use fiscal controls and fund accounting procedures
that ensure that the funds are used for their intended purpose and are
accounted for properly - S/he
will have skills in implementing financial and organizational
sustainability of Recipients. - Ability
to train partners on grant management and required reporting highly
preferred.
