About SNV:
SNV Uganda, Oxfam Novib, BoP Innovation Lab and Conclusion have jointly
developed the concept of BSPACE, a cutting edge business service ecosystem that
will be the organization that understands and orchestrates market driven
(systemic) innovations that positively impact low income groups in Uganda.
B SPACE will act as focal point for BoP consumers, farmers, companies,
NGOs, government and investors who have a role to play in economic development
in Uganda. By smartly connecting and orchestrating their perspectives,
knowledge and resources, it catalyses inclusive innovations and
entrepreneurship in rural Uganda. 
Job Summary: The Senior
Business Developer should have proven experience in building successful
business models with a financially sound base (ROI) that also take social
impact (inclusion, gender…) into consideration. The person has a private
sector background, but should also be able to function in a complex public
private stakeholders field. He/she has strong analytical skills and is able to
proactively identify opportunities and catalyse innovations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Strategic opportunity identification
  • Networking & trend watching
  • Marketing and acquisition
  • Systemic market analysis
  • Development of systemic business cases
  • Coordinate systemic business cases &
    key local incubations
  • Tailoring services ecosystem towards needs
    of clients
  • Lead the investment & financial
    matchmaking opportunities 
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
  • The
    candidate should hold a Degree from a recognised institute in business
    economy, marketing or comparable education
    (or strong business
    development / innovation skills through proven working experience)
  • At
    least 5-10 years working experien
    ce in (new) business development
  • Strong
    analytical and quantitative skills (metrics based)
  • Result
    & goal oriented
  • Ability
    to strategize and develop new business concepts and innovations
  • Strong team player, but at same time
    ability to take the lead
  • Extensive
    relations with (inter)national business community
  • Insight in or affinity with social issues
  • Strong networker and negotiation skills
  • Out of the box thinker
  • Strong communication  (written and spoken), computer
    (Microsoft Office Pro) and presentation skills
  • Learning attitude
  • Fluent in English and main Ugandan
    national languages
  • Willing and able to travel frequently
