Administration Manager (FAM)
Uganda
Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) that was formed to contribute to Uganda’s
efforts in enhancing access to quality HIV/AIDS prevention, care, treatment,
and support services to families with a histoncal focus on Prevention of
Mother-to-Child Transmission.
Accountant will support the FAM in the finance function for the smooth
operation of PREFA’s programs and activities.
- Preparation and presentation of annual
project budgets to accompany related work plans. - Monitoring of the allocation of project
income and expenditure - Review and approve all project payments
and bank reconciliation. - Preparation of quarterly and annual cash
flow projections - Review periodic reports and statements for
Financial Management as stipulated in Financial Policy for Management
decision making. - Assistance in effective and efficient
integration of project financial activities into the organization’s
financial management and information system. - Help staff internalize the financial
documents e.g. accounting manuals, finance policies, systems and
procedures in the organization. - Timely project financial reporting and
representation on behalf of PREFA at donor meetings on finance issues. - Financial support supervision provided to
PREFA implementing partners and Non-finance staffs in Finance management
skills in line with PREFA
Experience:
- The Senior Accountant should possess a BCom
or BBA (Accounting), or any other relevant discipline from a recognized
institution. Possession of professional qualification like ACCA. CPA or
CIMA is a must. - A Masters in management highly desirable
- At least five (5) years working experience
in accounting and financial management; 3 of which should have been at
Senior Accountant level. - Proven knowledge of donor financial
accounting procedures (multi-donor reporting) e.g. CDC/USAID rules and
regulations and clear understanding of Government of Uganda accounting
requirements.

Word, Excel, and at least two accounting packages (including PASTEL).
