Summary:
The Sales
Representative will be required  to achieve
maximum sales profitability, growth and account penetration within an assigned
territory and/or market segment by effectively selling the company’s products.
Personally contact and secure new business accounts and customers for PFIL.
Key
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible
    for the achievement of the sales targets set assigned territory/market –
    Uganda
  • Establish,
    develop and maintain business relationships with current customers and
    prospective customers in the assigned territory/market segment to generate
    new business for PFIL Brands.
  • Ensure
    brand presence of Premier Food Industries Limited (PFIL) brands within the
    modern trade and general trade channels.
  • Coordinate
    sales effort with marketing, sales management, accounting and logistics
    teams.
  • Analyze
    the territory/market’s potential and determine the value of existing and
    prospective customer’s value to the organization.
  • Create
    and manage a customer value plan for existing customers highlighting
    profile, share and value opportunities.
  • Plan
    and organize personal sales strategy by maximizing the Return on Time
    Investment for the territory/segment – weekly and monthly itineraries.
  • Supply
    management with oral and written reports on customer needs, problems,
    interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and
    services.
  • Keep
    abreast of product applications, market conditions, competitive
    activities, advertising and promotional trends through the reading of
    pertinent literature and consulting with marketing and sales.
  • Participates
    in trade shows and conventions.
  • Manage
    the implementation and evaluation of marketing programs  undertaken
  • Manage
    the implementation of the pricing strategy across the channels in
    adherence to set pricing structure.
  • Develop
    and enhance the current customer base through relationship management.
  • Increase
    numeric foot print of the brands in both modern and general trade within
    the Kampala triangle
  • Indentify
    and implement new channels of distribution targeting B2B, PFMs and
    institutions.
  • Work
    closely with the appointed distributors to ensure achievement of the set
    targets per distributor
  • Monitor
    competition by gathering current market information on pricing, new
    products, promotion, delivery schedules.
  • Resolve
    customer complains in the market by providing workable and achievable
    solutions.
  • Preparation
    of the monthly orders in conjunction with the distributors based on IMS
    and market needs.
  • Implement
    continuous training of the distributor sales teams on Premier Food
    Industries Limited (PFIL) brands.
  • Evaluate
    distributor performance and coverage ; identify gaps and provide
    corrective measures to be undertaken
  • Manage
    product launch programs in coordination with the marketing and export team
  • Prepare
    and monitor the monthly forecast per distributor for timely deliveries.
  • Ensure
    payments for the orders are remitted timely per distributor.
  • Expedite
    the resolution of customer problems and complaints.
Qualifications,
Skills and Experience:
  • The applicant should possess a post-secondary degree in marketing
    or economics.
  • Demonstrated
    aptitude for problem-solving; ability to determine solutions for customers
    (consultative sales approach).
  • At
    least two to three years sales experience in the FMCG industry/ sector.
  • Results-orientated
    and able to work both independently and within a team environment.
  • Excellent
    verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good
    understanding of entrepreneurial and commercial objectives
  • Knowledge
    of sales strategies and concepts
  • Good
    understanding of developing sales reports
  • Proficiency
    in using Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Valid
    driver’s license.
