Uganda
working in the field of disability arid development CSU is a member of the
Leonard Cheshire Disability Global Alliance, a membership of over 55 countries.
CSU works with and for Persons with Disabilities through four thematic
programme areas of Livelihood, Inclusive Education, Advocacy and campaign and
Health and rehabilitation. CSU has been selected by the Girls Education
Challenge (GEC) to receive DFID funding to design a project to effect
long-lasting and transformative change for girls with disabilities in Kampala
district. The project will support girls with disabilities to enroll and
demonstrate learning and retention in mainstream primary schools. CSU will in
the next five months develop the project further basing on the baseline to be
conducted. CSU therefore wishes to recruit a highly qualified and sett
motivated team to deliver the project upon final approval for implementation.
Assistant (Documentation) will be responsible for development of organisation
and project publications including; case studies, newsletter, annual reports
and website updates.
- Develop project related case studies
- Support development of organisation and
project IEC materials in conformity with CSU and donor guidelines. - Regular update of organisation website
- Participate in the production and preparation
of project related communication materials, fact sheets and reports; - Ensure that the Education Resource Centre
is well managed and there are reading materials Support development of
project databases - Work with other staff to maintain project
databases
Experience:
- The applicant should possess a degree in
Library and Information Science, Communication, Information Technology or
related field. - Two years of experience in a related
field. - Excellent knowledge of both spoken and
written English. - A good knowledge of working with online
databases. - Knowledge and ability to develop a
database for electronic documentation. - A highly-developed sense of initiative and
responsibility, coupled with dynamism, organizational skills, logic and
flexibility.
