Uganda
Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) that was formed to contribute to Uganda’s
efforts in enhancing access to quality HIV/AIDS prevention, care, treatment,
and support services to families with a histoncal focus on Prevention of Mother-to-Child
Transmission.
Manager is responsible for the overall management of program activities, and
leads a team of professionals that will provide technical support to districts
and other partners implementing Elimination of Mother-to-Child Transmission
(eMTCT) of HIV services in PREFA supported areas of Uganda. She/he will travel
extensively to provide this support and guidance at regional, district, and
community levels,
- Management of respective PREFA programs
and to ensure effective implementation of program activities and attainment
of desired results. - Offer technical supped to the program
team. - A well-motivated and skilled program team
in place to provide high quality eMTCT services. - Ensure an effective mechanism for
obtaining feedback on program implementation and lessons learned are in
place. - Ensure regular program meetings to review
progress in implementation of eMTCT activities. - Operational plans and budgets and standard
operating procedures are in place for program implementation. - Ensure timely preparation and submission
of program reports to the Ministry of Health and PREFA donors as required. - Take lead of program budget to ensure
value for money. - Perform any other duties as assigned by
management.
Experience:
- The Program manager should possess a Medical
Degree and Master’s Degree in Public Health. - A minimum of two years of experience in
team management. - At least five (5) years of professional
experience working in HIV/AIDS prevention and care - Practical experience working with partners
at district and community level in HIV/AIDS work. - Good understanding of current issues and
developments in the field of HIV/AIDS and especially eMTCT. VCT and ART. - Good track record of working with Local
government. - Strong skills in Management and Networking
- Excellent verbal communication and writing
skills. - Willingness to work and travel in rural
settings in Uganda. - Computer literacy in Microsoft word,
Power-point, Excel and Internet.
