Job
Summary
: The Program
Manager Knowledge Management provides programming and technical leadership
related to knowledge management, monitoring and evaluation, advocacy and
community engagement of Link Up and other CHAU related projects.
Key
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Offer
    overall technical leadership of knowledge management of the Link Up and
    other CAHU related projects
  • Supervise
    the development, implementation and review of work plans, budgets and
    systems to include; monitoring, supervision, evaluation and appraisal of
    the knowledge management department.
  • Conduct
    the coordination of advocacy and policy activities for a supportive
    environment of SRH and HIV.
  • Gather,
    analyze and synthesize all information from various sources on a quarterly
    basis and disseminate to relevant stakeholders.
  • Liaise
    with all teams of the organization and partners of Link Up and other CHAU
    related projects providing support and guidance on knowledge management.
  • Promote
    knowledge sharing through the organizational processes, information
    systems and strengthen linkages between knowledge sharing and facilitate
    seamless exchange of information.
  • Promote
    knowledge sharing, open communication and networking across the
    organization and amongst partners, and develop both internal and external
    networks and use these to share knowledge with others and provide support
    to communities of practice
  • Liaise
    with partners and stakeholders to ensure networking and internal
    communication requirements are assessed, addressed and aligned to core
    business of the organization.
  • Plan,
    coordinate and monitor progress of knowledge management systems across the
    partners and the organization.
  • Establish
    knowledge management needs and requirements and develop strategies to
    address these needs
  • Offer
    technical support the development and maintenance of the organization
    knowledge matrices, maps, monitoring tools and website, resource centre
    and intranet.
  • Help
    disseminate information about the organization knowledge sharing program
    to internal and external audiences.
  • Lead
    the capacity building initiative of partners to use service delivery data
    for decision making
  • Coordinate
    all research activities of the organization including coordination with Pop
    Council on Link Up Project.
  • Participate
    in dissemination and training activities of the organization in country,
    region and international meetings including technical working groups
  • Represent
    the organization at meetings with implementing partners, donors, and other
    external audiences.
  • Stay
    abreast of groundbreaking work in SRHR disseminate new knowledge to
    organization staff.



Qualification,
Skills and Experience:
  • The
    applicant should hold an Advanced degree in health, population,
    demography, social sciences or related field
  • At
    least five years work experience in knowledge management, monitoring and
    evaluation, community engagement and SRH, HIV and family planning or
    development programs of knowledge management sharing initiatives
  • Technical
    experience in capacity building in Africa, preferably in Eastern Africa at
    both basic and advance level
  • Experience
    working with government, government parietals and institutions preferably
    Ministry of Health and Uganda AIDS Commission
  • Experience
    in fundraising, donor relations, strategy and proposal development
  • Extensive
    experience in development, design and implementation of monitoring and
    evaluation systems (guidelines, methodologies including tools) at organizational
    and field settings.
  • Good
    knowledge and experience of using qualitative and quantitative data
    collection and analysis methods, including basic statistical packages
  • Ability
    to explain complex concepts in layman’s language and generate and establish
    productive relationships.
  • Knowledge
    of SRHR service delivery integration and men’s sexual health in general
    and in Africa.
  • Ability
    to develop, manage, and administer comprehensive and complex programs
  • Excellent
    communication, interpersonal, facilitation skills facilitation skills and
    experience in the use of participatory methodologies.
  • Excellent
    skills in information management, including recording, analysis, reporting
    and review methods, gained in an international organization.
  • Demonstrated
    and visionary leadership and technical expertise in the development field.
  • Experience
    of collating and writing reports to donors
