About
CEDAT:
Makerere University seeks
to fill the position of Principal in the College of Engineering, Design, Art
and Technology (CEDAT). The Colleges of Makerere University are semi-autonomous
academic units which contain Schools, Academic, Institutes and Departments
which carry out both General and Professional Training as well as carrying out
Research in various disciplines.
Job
Summary: The Principal
shall be the Chief Administrative, Academic and Financial Officer of the
College and shall be responsible to Senate and the University Council for
promoting and maintaining academic management excellence, efficiency and
effectiveness and for order in the College.
Qualifications,
Skills and Experience:
  • The
    applicant possess a PhD or other academic Doctorate or Masters in Clinical
    discipline;
    Be at least of the rank of Associate Professor or its equivalent at the
    time of application;
    A minimum of four (4) years managerial ability in Institution of Higher
    Learning or Research Institution with a track record of having served as
    Head of Academic Department or as Academic Programmes Coordinator or
    Research Project Manager.
  • Teaching
    experience of four (4) years in at least one of the disciplines offered in
    the College he/ she intends to lead.
  • Be
    a Ugandan citizen.
  • Age:
    40 – 61 years old
