Reports To: Supervisor, Compliance
Job Summary: The Officer Compliance will carry out Compliance Reviews and implement Integrity Enhancement Initiatives and activities in accordance with the URA HRMM, Code of Conduct and other Compliance Programs.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- The job holder will conduct investigation operations in the division and generate reports in line with Departmental Guidelines and Tax Investigations Manual
- Collect and analyze data on business transactions of cases under investigations and generate a report in line departmental guidelines
- Coordinate the settlement of queries, claim and provide technical support to management and staff in line with departmental guidelines
- Coordinate with CID in Investigations of criminal cases and on request represent URA in court
- Prepare MDC & SAC reports on staff in line with HRMM &MEC decisions.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The Officer Compliance must possess an Honor’s Degree in Law, Commerce, Accountancy, Auditing.
- Credits in both Math and English at O’ Level.
- The applicant should also possess professional Qualifications in Accounting, Auditing, Ethics &Integrity
- Additional training in Corporate Governance
- Knowledge in regulatory and Process Compliance
- A minimum of two (2) year experience in Compliance Audits & Reviews
- Knowledge in regulatory and process compliance.
- Proficiency in data analysis techniques.
- Proficiency in research, investigations and the use of statistical data analysis techniques
- Familiarity with court and prosecution processes
- Risk profiling and analysis
- Experience in management of complaints and whistle blowers
- Experience in implementation of integrity enhancement programs
- Familiarity with management of investigation
- A good understanding of Tax Laws, Leadership Codes, Anti-bribery Act, penal code and Labor Laws
- Knowledge of URA code of conduct and other policies
