Summary: The Nursing
Officer (Midwifery) will offer midwifery nursing services and public health
interventions to patients and the community.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Receiving
patients, registering admissions, deliveries, discharges and deaths. - Conduct
antenatal care and identify high risk cases for referrals. - Providing
care during pregnancy, labour, delivery and puerperium with emphasis to
prevention of infection and complications to mother and baby. - Sensitizing
mothers about benefits of breast feeding and recommended diet. - Participating
in the bed side nursing procedures as a member of the caring team. - Participating
in Doctors/clinical officer’s ward rounds. - Preparing
patients for meals and participating in serving them. - Requisitioning
and accounting for medical supplies and sundries. - Participating
in research activities. - Imparting
knowledge and skills to students and staff. - Adhering
to professional code of conduct and Ethics. - Carrying
out Human Resource Management functions such as training and staff
performance appraisal. - Compiling
daily ward report and handing over to in coming shift.
Qualifications,
Skills and Experience:
Skills and Experience:
- All
applicants should be trained as a Registered Midwife level from a
recognized institution. - The
applicant must be registered with the Nurses council and midwives council. - All
candidates must have a valid Practicing License.
