International (YBI) has received a grant from the Department for International
Development (DFID) of UK to support the Northern Uganda Youth Entrepreneurship
Programme (NUYEP). It is a 2 year project whose key objective is to improve the
livelihoods of 10,000 youth (aged 18-35) and their households in Northern
Uganda using a household empowerment approach that provides mindset change
training, business follow up, and personalised business support.The project will target youth in the Greater North covering five
regions of Acholi, West Nile, Lango, Teso and Karamoja.
Job Summary: The Mentoring
Specialist is to ensure the effective design, implementation, and continuous
improvement of the mentoring programme.
- Manage the recruitment, matching and
training of potential mentees and mentors. - Promote and publicize the mentoring
program. - The mentoring specialist will be charged
with the efficient running of the mentoring programme – includes
establishing appropriate procedures and systems, providing a “ready ear”
to all participants (to help where needed to ensure relationships are
progressing) and keeping every stakeholder informed.
Experience:
- The applicant should be a Ugandan with a
bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business Administration, social sciences,
entrepreneurship development or a business-related discipline; - Proven track record in developing and
implementing mentoring programs is an added advantage.
