Roofings Rolling Mills is a leading steel manufacturing company in East
Africa, having a three-Phased project comprising of a wire galvanizing line,
reinforced TMT bars, Push, Pull Pickling Line (PPL), Continuous Galvanizing
Line and Colour Coating Line located at the Kampala Industrial Business Park,
Namanve, Uganda.

Job Summary: The Insurance
Officer will be charged with establishing, analyzing and managing claims
through to payment for all RRM Insurance claims.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Handle all categories of insurance
including marine & Air freight shipments, Goods in transit(Mombasa –
Kampala), Goods in transit (Internal Distribution), Industrial – All-Risk
(IAR), Cash, motor vehicles, fidelity, workman’s’ compensation etc. - Follow-up on insured goods, amendments in
case there are changes in contracts/proforma invoices i.e. in terms of
values. - Handle Insurance declarations for Marine,
Parts and Machinery etc. - Process claims for Marine cargo, motor
accidents, Workman’s compensation, Cash in Transit, cash at hand &
Industrial – all-risks. - Process all claim documentation for
immediate recoveries in case of damages/Losses. - Documentation & record management.
- Ensure that damaged cargo has been surveyed
and documentation done.
Ensure that claims are settled and closed - Any other duties as assigned by superiors.
Qualifications, Skills &
Experience:
Experience:
- The Insurance Officer should hold a holder
of a Bachelor’s Degree in a business related course. - Additional training or a Diploma course in Insurance management
is an added advantage Understanding of the insurance industry, and sound knowledge
of insurance policies - An understanding of relevant laws, such as
Privacy Act and the Human Rights Act - Knowledge of risks involved in different
occupations. - Excellent communication skills
- Ability and proficiency in working with
computers. - Self motivated with strong problem solving
skills and ability to work under pressure
