UNEB:
Examinations Board is a body corporate established under Cap.137 Laws of
Uganda. Its Vision is To be leading centre of assessment for quality
education”. Uganda National Examinations Board invites suitably qualified
Ugandans to fill the post of Executive Secretary, Uganda National Examinations
Board.
Summary: The Executive
Secretary will;
- Provide
leadership to all staff of UNEB - Ensure
effective and efficient planning, management and use of resources, human,
fiscal and assets in compliance with the Board’s rules and regulations. - Co-ordinate
and control all activities concerning examinations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- He/She
is the Chief Executive and Accounting Officer of the Board and head of the
UNEB Secretariat. - Initiating
and formulating policies and plans aimed at improving the performance of
the Board. - Spearheading
the continuous review of the vision, mission and strategic development
plans of the Board in order to achieve its expected objectives. - Implementing
all decisions of the Board Ensuring that the Board is staffed with
qualified and competent professionals. - Appraising
the performance of staff and recommending appropriate action. - Overseeing
procurement and fair allocation of resources to various departments - Monitoring
and tracking utilization of capital and operational expenditure. - Directing
and supervising the top management team, responsible for examinations,
financial and administrative functions of the Board. - Co-ordinating
with other departments like NCDC, ESC, MOES Maintaining an effective
consultative process and networking with stakeholders and international
examining bodies for management of examinations.
Skills and Experience:
- All
candidates should possess a Masters Degree in any of the following fields;
Business Administration or Public Administration and Management or
Management or Education/ Education Planning and Management, or Measurement
and Assessment or Education or Curriculum Development from a recognized
university/Institution. - Specialized
knowledge in risk management, or examinations administration/management
will be an added advantage. - Applicants
should have at least 15 years working experience five (5) of which should
have been gained at senior managerial level i.e.. Head of Department in a
higher institution of learning, Head of a recognized educational
institution or public sector institution /organization. - Age: 45 – 60 years
Competencies: Ability to
work for long hours, Computer literacy, Excellent communication skills, Good
networking skills
