MUK Project:
health survey project of Makerere University School of Public Health in
collaboration with the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and
the Aids Control Program of Ministry of Health. The project plans to conduct a
national household-based survey to “Pilot the Size Estimation of Key
Populations at Higher Risk for HIV Infection in Uganda”.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Execute
study procedures in accordance to set standards - Make
initial contacts and establish rapport with potential study subjects - Clearly
introduce and explain the survey to participants - Obtain
informed consent from participants - Conduct
and complete interviews as may be instructed - Ensure
accurate data collection Act as translators - Perform
other duties as may be assigned.
Skills and Experience:
- Experience
with DHS and AIS preferred - Computer
literacy - Good
communication and inter-personal skills - Ability
to work without close supervision - Keen
and attentive to details - Polite,
patient, friendly and good listener - Ability
to accurately record data - Reliable,
flexible and confident - Ability
to work late hours and on weekends - Ability to work upcountry
proficiency: English,
Luganda, plus other local language (Runyoro/Rutooro, Runyankore/ Rukiga,
Lugbara, Ateso and Lao)
