CARE programming is shifting from project (short term) to programme (long term) approach. The Country Office completed the design of the Northern Uganda Women Empowerment Programme (NUWEP) both multi-years (10-15 years) programmes. The programme impact population are women and girls of reproductive age affected by conflict in Northern Uganda.
Job Summary: The driver will offer tasks related to driving CARE Vehicles entrusted to them in a safe and economical manner in line with the CARE Policy and the Uganda traffic laws and regulations, perform minor mechanical tasks and support office administrative work as may be required.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • The Driver will ensure transportation of CARE Staff, partners and materials from office to destinations in a secure and safe manner
  • Ensure that the vehicle assigned to is maintained in a good working mechanical condition
  • Maintain the Vehicle Log book records and submit to the Supervisor monthly
  • Do the Collection and deliveries of mails, equipments and parcels
  • Perform minor repairs and recommend major repairs to the garage.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The Driver should possess an O level & Mechanical Certificate
  • A  minimum of three (3) years driving and mechanical experience
  • The applicant should possess a Valid Class A, B, CM Certificates Driving permit. Possession of a DL class will be an added advantage
  • Good understanding of the geographical area of assignment
  • Experience in working in a busy environment with lots of experience in long distance Movements
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills, smart and fluent in English .(Women are also encouraged to apply)
