About
RHU:
Reproductive Health Uganda
(RHU) is a member of the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF),
and its core mandate is to promote high quality, high impact and gender
sensitive Sexual & Reproductive Health and Rights information and services
through capacity building, specialized service delivery, issue specific
advocacy and strategic partnerships. It is a volunteer owned and led
organization, with the volunteer body having a distinct role to play in governance,
but not in actual project management and implementation.
Job
Summary
: The Driver
will take expertly drive and maintain Association’s Vehicles in line with MU
policies.
Key
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Drive
    RHU vehicles/authorized passengers to specified destinations as approved
    by the supervisor in line with RHU Vehicle Use & Management Policy
  • Deliver
    packages, goods and mail and any other deliverable to specified people,
    places and offices
  • Maintain
    Association’s Vehicles in proper running condition by conducting physical
    inspection/ check of vehicle status/condition Monitor the security of
    vehicle, authorized passengers and luggage in line with the vehicle policy
  • Report
    all major and minor damage and accidents to the vehicle to the supervisor
    using relevant documentation/forms
  • Perform
    and other professional duty as may be assigned by the Supervisor.
     
Qualifications,
Skills and Experience:
  • The
    Driver should posses an Ordinary Level Certificate with at least 2
    principle passes. Possession of two or more Classes of driving permit is
    preferred
  • A
    certificate in Defensive driving from an established driving school/firm
    is an added advantage
  • Experience
    in driving, with clean driving record of not less than 3 years, preferably
    with an NGO
  • Excellent
    command of written and spoken English.
     
Personal
Competencies:
Interpret
and follow traffic signs and regulations. Drive carefully and Keep record of
motor vehicle movement; Follow, approved work schedule. Monitor and report in
time expiry of motor vehicle road license and third party insurance. Take
security precautions; Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks
