About Roofings:
Roofings Rolling Mills is a leading steel manufacturing company in East
Africa, having a three-Phased project comprising of a wire galvanizing line,
reinforced TMT bars, Push, Pull Pickling Line (PPL), Continuous Galvanizing
Line and Colour Coating Line located at the Kampala Industrial Business Park,
Namanve, Uganda.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Managing the overall accounting data entry
and processing function, including review and posting accounting transactions
in the Accounting System. - Preparation for the payment cycle for
creditors and ensuring that payments are made within the agreed time
frame. - Verify online payment transactions.
- Reviewing the company’s cash receipts and
ensuring that these are banked promptly and intact. - Liaison with internal and external
auditors and responding to any queries raised by them. - Ensuring VAT, withholding tax, and other
government returns are correctly computed, paid on time and in the correct
amounts. - Reviewing the financial accounting
procedures, ensuring they conform to best practice, are documented and
adhered to. - Ensuring conformity to the requirements of
quality services. - Ensuring that financial accounting staffing
requirements are fully met. - Ensuring the competence and efficiency of
staff in the financial accounting department in terms of knowledge, skills
and attitude. - Managing guidelines to the financial
accounting staff to ensure an efficient workflow in a work environment,
which fosters high degree of personal integrity, team spirit and
outstanding work standards.
Qualifications, Skills &
Experience:
Experience:
- The applicant should possess a Bachelor of
Commerce Degree preferably in accounting or finance. - Additional professional qualification i.e.
ACCA or CPA qualifications - A minimum of at least three years of
relevant experience in similar industry.
Good interpersonal skills and
computer knowledge, experience working with Oracle based ERP is an added
advantage. - Ability to work independently
