Uganda Crane Creameries
Cooperative Union Limited (UCCCUL) is a farmers organisation whose main
objective is to promote dairy farmers, activities and programmes to improve
dairy farming and processing within the region in collaboration with and
collaborate with other stakeholders in the dairy sector in Uganda. UCCCUL has
received funding from the Agribusiness Initiative (aBi) Trust, to implement the
Dairy Value Chain Development Project in the South western region.

Summary: The field
operations and monitoring personnel will be assigned to monitor primary
cooperative societies and unions.

Key
Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Offer
support the marketing and promotion of raw milk at primary society. - Assist
in the diversification of markets for raw milk for primary societies. - Support
establishment of internal business and financial control systems - Training
society staff and committee members in financial management Initiate and
coordinate mobilization of farmers to join cooperatives for bulking of
milk working hand in hand with the mobilization committees - Provide
UCCCU secretariat with primary cooperative society data regarding sales,
membership, milk collection, farm gate price, loan payment on monthly
basis. - In
collaboration with UCCCU staff and technical consultants train the members
of the primary societies and unions on good governance and accountability
practices by primary cooperative societies. - Contributing
articles to the annual dairy year magazine. - Provide
technical guidance and supervision to lower level staff - Any
other duties that may be assigned by the project coordinator. - Assist
in the loan recovery for financing of 50% farmer contribution to the
acquisition of milk cooling tanks and accessories.
Qualifications,
Skills and Experience:
Skills and Experience:
- The
applicant should hold a college diploma in cooperative development or a
Bachelor’s degree in business studies from a reputable institution. - Experience
in agribusiness project work will be an added advantage. - Knowledge
of accounting/ financial management will be an added advantage - Proficiency
in computer applications of word, excel, SSP and internet. - Strong
organizational and planning skills. - Motivated
and result oriented - Ability
to work with minimum supervision. - Team
player with integrity. - Excellent
communication and interpersonal skills. - Coordination
skills - Knowledge
of the local language-Runyankole, Rukiga
