Key
Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitor
System Logs and Activity of all Servers (Windows and Unix based) - Performs
Regular and Incremental tape backup of all Servers and Systems. - Maintains
and documents all production databases and interface systems and resolves
database performance problems. - Monitor
and Manage Network, Systems and Application Security. - Maintains
archived data on appropriate storage devices. - Space
management on the different storage units and servers on the network. - Audits
and reviews systems and practices to ensure compliance with procedures and
standards. - Maintain
Integrity of Staff Accounts and Data on the Servers, and perform recovery
when possible. - Create
user profiles including access rights and limitations according to correct
procedures. - Install
and Configure any devices or Software on the System. - Coordinates
software evaluation and installation. - Development
of policy and procedures as they relate to Data Centre management, Backup,
Data Management, security and archiving. - Carry
out routine maintenance according to agreed schedules. - Participate
and support Change-management process as required. - Develop
and maintain as built Documents. - Ensure
that resources and systems in the data centre are available for access.
Qualifications,
Skills & Experience:
Skills & Experience:
- The
systems administrator should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer
Science, Electrical Engineering or Information Technology - 5
years’ experience in planning, implementing and maintaining state of the
art IP networks. - Cisco
Certified Network Associate as an add on “ Optional” - Well
rounded IT background of infrastructure management (networks, systems,
web-hosting and Software), complimented by strong knowledge of
Telecommunications. - Good
knowledge in the operation and management of Network Attached storage - Excellent
oral and written communication skills. - Effective
presentation and networking skills. - Strong
team and collaborative skills - High
level of personal energy and willingness to take the initiative in
planning and organizing daily work. - Good
judgment in discerning between priority and non-priority issues. - Strong
desire to acquire and apply new skills in a constantly evolving highly
technical environment. - Strong
sense of urgency and drives issues to closure. - Strategic
Thinking; Innovation and Creativity; Risk Taking and Risk Management;
Results Orientation skills.
