GEM-U:
child and young people development organization that promotes and advocates for
the education of children through arrange of innovative education programmes
and projects. Our aim is to enable the youth in Uganda to realize their full
potential and have their achievements recognized.
Today, our work makes a lasting impact by encouraging young people to take
responsibility and become involved citizens. It has given a voice to the people
who are too rarely hard and builds skills that will remain useful throughout
their lives.

Summary:
- Overall
head of the organizational Program Planning, Implementation, Reporting and
documentation. - Responsible
for Program systems, guidelines and manuals/handbooks. - Quality
assurance of the organizational program - Provides
strategic support to GEM-U Executive Director and Board of Directors,
especially the Program Committee.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Strategic
Planning:
- Support
the Development, and Execute the organization’s technical program
strategy. - Responsible
for overall program planning and implementation - Projecting
program resource needs and sourcing funding
Program
Delivery:
- Lead
person for organizational Program Implementation, - Strategies
and Innovations - Work
plans - Approaches,
Methods and Guidelines [Handbooks and manuals] - Activity
Coordination - Partnership
development - Staff
capacity assessment and development. - Overall
monitoring of program performance. - Serve
as coach and mentor to all program staff and members particularly with
regard to GEM-U Goals, Values and Strategic Plan
Reporting
and Documentation:
- Responsible
for overall program reporting - Organizational
documentation and profiling - Disseminating
program best practices
Skills & Experience:
- A
Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences/Social Work/Development Studies - Post
graduate degree in Development related field - At
least 6 years’ experience in a similar position in a Youth focused NGO - Track
record in Youth programming and NGO work - Clear
understanding of Youth Programming and management - Experience
in Project planning and management - Experience
in GEM activities-added advantage - Team
leader, guide and mentor in Finance and Administration - Computer
literacy and agility - Good
Inter-personal, communication and report writing skills - Self
-motivated and ability to work with minimal supervision
