Job Title: Head Of Internal Audit
Organisation: Opportunity Bank Uganda Limited
Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement internal audit strategy, procedures, policies and performance plan.
- Develop an annual audit plan using input from the team and stakeholders to identify priorities and resource requirements.
- Schedule and assign audits to team members, ensuring effective and efficient use of resources.
- Ensure quality control of the team’s audit plans on an ongoing basis by reviewing and approving plans as they are developed and communicated.
- Oversee and provide quality control for the department’s audits, to ensure departmental mandate and business goals are met and that professional standards are maintained at all times.
- Conduct audit reviews with all the banks’ branches to ensure that the controls are sufficient
- Ensure completion of audit assignments to provide independent, objective assurance to the Board of Directors Audit Committee.
- Work closely with Finance and Operations departments to co-ordinate Central Bank inspection audits and ensures efficient access to books and records
- Ensure that overall Fraud Investigation strategy, operational plan, policies and procedures are implemented.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
- University degree preferably in Accounting, Finance or Management.
- Membership of a professional body (ACCA,IIA,CIA,ICPAU)
- Minimum of five years experience in Audit practice in a financial services institution.
- Minimum of four years experience in General Management skills.
- Communications skills
- Analytical, problem solving and decision making skills
- Proficiency in computer packages (MS Excel and Word).
