Job Summary: The Enterprise Systems manager will also maintain and manage Uganda Telecom’s Information Systems, ensure adequate capacity, system availability and excellent user support is provided.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Contribute towards the development of the Information services strategy that  is in line with the overall company strategy
  • Participate in the establishment of companywide standards for business support systems.
  • Manage business continuity and disaster recovery procedures with periodic testing.
  • Lead, motivate, coach and advise the enterprise systems team to achieve performance and continual improvement in supporting the Information services users.
  • Facilitate user’s capability to use the Enterprise systems and IT services
  • Oversee timely resolution of desktop, infrastructure and business support systems incidents, requests and queries
  • Oversee the daily operational activities of the Enterprise Systems team.
  • Oversee functional and user acceptance testing of system patches
  • Setup and configure master data in business support systems
  • Give regular updates to users on system functionalities and new IT services
  • Coordinate and oversee the IT – Business User relationship and communication
  • Coordinate preparation and manage the IT Infrastructure and Enterprise Systems OPEX and CAPEX budgets.
  • Provide clear direction and communicate the implication and interdependencies of each functional unit
  • Develop, continually monitor and improve the internal core and support processes so as to deliver excellent desktop and business support services
  • Coordinate regular cross-functional forums for discussion and resolution of system problems / issues. 
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
  • 6 years’ experience of which 3 years in managing the IT function of a reputable organisation; experience in IT service delivery
  • Experience with SLA management
  • Experience with vendor management.
  • Enterprise and Infrastructure management (LAN, WAN, server, operating systems, databases etc.)
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and ability to respond to high-priority situations
  • Understanding of the nature of the telecom industry
  • Problem solving skills

  • Strong analytical background

  • Be self driven
  • Be a good team player/leader
