Job Title: Underwriter
Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda
Reports to: Team Leader
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Underwriting
of business i.e. issuing stickers, endorsements, policy documents and renewals - Acceptance
of risk and facultative placements up to a prescribed limit; - Broker
visits and attending to broker queries; - Preparation
of weekly and monthly reports - Receiving
proposal forms and making timely quotations and follow ups - Marketing
all classes of business - Any
duties as delegated by Supervisor
- A
University degree in a business related course or Actuarial science
obtained from a recognized university - A
Certificate of Proficiency in Insurance (COP) is a prerequisite - Possession
of ACII or progress towards an Insurance professional qualification will
have an added advantage, - Three
(3) years relevant experience. - Must
be computer literate in MS Word, MS Excel, Pastel - An
enquiring and analytical mind; - A
good command of the English language coupled with the ability to
communicate effectively at all levels. - Ability
to work with limited supervision
