Officer will be responsible for providing technical oversight and assisting
with day-to-day management and communications needs.

Key
Duties & Responsibilities:
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provides
technical support on climate adaptation and guidance to staff and partners
in the development and dissemination of tools, materials, reports, and
papers. - Implements
and monitors climate change adaptation capacity building activities. - Supports
training and capacity building strategy, conducts training on topics
related to climate change adaptation in the agricultural sector. - Works
with academic institutions, communities and partners to maximize local
capacity. Works closely with the COP to ensure activities are implemented
according to work plans and standard procedures. - Writes
and edits technical reports and documents. - Assists
with publications, web pages, and presentations. - Conducts
research on climate change adaptation in the agricultural sector. - Provides
support and input into the program’s performance monitoring and evaluation
system. - Supports
program COP in responding to internal and external requests and inquiries.
Skills & Experience:
- Master’s
Degree in natural resources management, agriculture, environmental
science, climate science, natural resources economics, public policy or
other relevant field (a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and ten
years of experience could be substituted for Master’s degree). - Minimum
of five (5) years of experience working on climate change issues. - Or
an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience
sufficient to successfully perform the key responsibilities of the job. - Experience
in communications and administrative management of academic and a capacity
building projects strongly preferred. - Previous
experience working on similar programs/activities, with a particular focus
in climate change and capacity building, in Uganda strongly preferred. - High
level of interpersonal skills. - Strong
English written and oral communication skills. - Ability
to travel within country or region and internationally if needed.
