(HFHU) affiliated to Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is an Ecumenical
Christian non-governmental organization running Programs that seek to eliminate
Poverty Housing in several areas in Uganda.
Summary: The Social
Worker will play the lead role in overseeing Habitat for Humanity Uganda’s
programs for HIV and other vulnerable children in the respective Communities
the position calls for a high level of, collaboration, networking at local and
District level.
Skills & Experience:
- A
minimum of a Diploma in social work or
its equivalent (additional qualifications are
an added advantage). - Proven
field based experience In coordinating HIV/ AIDS, OVC or related
programs. - At
least 3 years of NGO project/program related implementation and
management preferably within the HIV/AIDS sector. - Understanding
of HIV/AIDS’ OVC programming/debates and knowledge
of similar programs in the country. - Experience
in networking, advocacy and lobbying with the local level government
and other organization. - Ability
to work and live in rural setting. - Ability
to ride a motorcycle and evidence of a rider’s license. - Excellent
interpersonal communication skills. - Computer
and Facilitation skills. - High
level of integrity and ability to make bold and timely decision. - Ability
to communicate in the local language of the community. - Ability
to work under a deadline and pressure. - Ability
to take initiatives to advance me program. - Strong
written and verbal communication in English and knowledge of the
local language spoken in any of the target districts will be
required. - Proven
experience in participatory monitoring and evaluation. - Ability
to work with minimum supervision.
