Security Assessment, analysis and advisory support
- To advise management and staff on key security issues
that may affect Karamoja operations. - To promote the implementation of World Vision
minimum-security management guidelines and to regularly monitor compliance
with audit security requirements. - To carry out security risk assessments and advise on
appropriate measures and actions within the area of operation. - Documentation and communication
- To prepare and submit incident reports to relevant
offices. - To regularly prepare security update, briefs and trend
analysis as may be relevant for engaging management in security issues. - Networking and Liaison
- To identify areas of security management that may
require external support - To establish and maintain a productive working
relationship with Crisis Response Team, WV Office of Corporate Security
and other stakeholders - To participate in key strategic security meetings within
the area of operation.
Training and awareness
- To create awareness among all staff in the area of
operation on security issues.
Supervisory duties
- Provide supervision to the Radio Operator.
- Oversee and assess performance of security service
providers and take overall responsibility for WV office and asset safety
and security.
- University or college degree preferable in Social
Sciences, Law, or Security Management - Proven security management skills, with emphasis on the
unique security requirements of humanitarian aid work - Have a minimum of 5 years of NGO/UN, police or military
field (operations) experience and at least 2 years of field security
experience - Additional practical knowledge of tools and mechanisms
and procedures for personal and organizational security in relevant
specialist areas such as security in the field, security communications,
operational planning, physical security, critical incident management,
occupational safety and security training. - Direct personal experience of working successfully in
hostile environments or under difficult operational circumstances. - Have a broad understanding of the global security issues
- An excellent command of English, spoken and excellent
communication and report writing skills - A mature and committed Christian, able to stand above
denominational diversities.
