About Plan:
Plan Uganda, with
funding from Plan Germany and in collaboration with Kamuli District Health
Departmant, is rolling out implementation of a four-year integrated child
health project –Strengthening Community Responses to Promote Early-child
Survival (SCORPES) in Kamuli District. The project will support delivery of
both facility- and community based child survival interventions, including EMTCT;
while promoting health rights, community advocacy, demand creation and social
accountability for improved health services in the communities of Kamuli
District.

Job Summary: The overall responsibility of the
Project Facilitator for Integrated Child Health Services is to conduct the day
to day implementation of child health and PMTCT interventions in the
communities of Kamuli district. Specifically, he/she will be responsible for
coordinating the delivery of quality integrated child health and EMTCT interventions
in the entire district of Kamuli.

Key Duties &
Responsibilities:

- Participate
in developing annual project outlines and quarterly and monthly project
work-plans and budgeting. - Manage
annual budgets allocated to support delivery of integrated child health
services using the ICCM/IMCI models - Organize
and coordinate community-based HIV interventions and EMTCT activities both
at facility and community levels. - Organize
and coordinate capacity building interventions for the district-based
health workforce so as to ensure quality delivery of services. - Participate
in community health empowerment activities using appropriate Community
Advocacy and Social Accountability Methodologies. - Organizing
awareness raising activities on health rights and health services,
including MCH and EMTCT - Participate
in mobilization and sensitization of communities to create demand for MCH
and PMTCT services. - Organize
participatory project monitoring and evaluation sessions at community
level - Participate
in the collection of data for the SCORPES project operational research - Compile
activity and monthly reports and submit to them to the Project Coordinator - Ensure
that the project resources, assets and documents are well maintained - Any
other tasks assigned by the Project Coordinator
Skills & Experience:
- A
degree in Nursing, Environmental/Community Health or any health
discipline. - Training
in areas of HIV/AIDS/EMTCT; and Integrated Community Case Management
(ICCM) of childhood illnesses is an added advantage. - At
least 2 years of hands-on experience implementing Community-based Child
Health projects, including Community-based HIV/EMTCT. - Hands-on
experience of working in rural settings. - Practical
experience in working with district and community health systems, including
Village Health Teams (VHT). - Computer
knowledge in Ms Word, Excel spread sheets and PowerPoint presentation - Knowledge
in participatory approaches to development - Ability
to ride a motorcycle is a MUST.
