- Training of Government officials and Civil Society Organizations on land administration and other land related legal issues
- Facilitate peer-to-peer mentoring between participating districts in the Program
- Provide grant recipient training and technical assistance
- Participate and contribute to all required reporting
- Other responsibilities as required.
- Bachelor Degree of Laws
- Post-graduate diploma in legal practice
- Minimum of two-three years of legal work experience, preferably with projects/NGOs in the area of human rights, legal aid, resolution of land conflict, and capacity building of communities and local government.
- Proficiency in English writing skills demonstrated by experience in donor report writing
- Strong public speaking and training experience.
- Expertise working with computer software, word processing, information management programs
- Clear commitment to the vision, mission, and values of NCSC and USAID
- Ability to engage in frequent in-country travel.
- Ability to work within a collaborative program structure involving staff from three separate organizations with multiple lines of reporting and evaluation.
- Result-oriented with ability to work under pressure, independently and with limited supervision
- Fluency in a regional language of Uganda
- Experience working with/knowledge of informal mechanisms for dispute resolution in a developing country.
- Project management skills and understanding of donor requirements.
