HR Jobs – Human Resource Manager at Dama Consultants

About Dama Consultants:
We are retained to assist the Board of Directors identify qualified,
experienced and competent Ugandans to fill management positions in a well
established business organization in Uganda. Our Client is one of the largest
business entity currently employing thousands of multi-cultural workforce who
are deployed in various units and sections of the organization.
Job Summary: The Human
Resource Manager’s role is to effectively plan, implement and manage all activities
and programs related to employees entry, stay in and exit from the organization.
Key Duties &
Responsibilities:
  • Plan, implement and evaluate employee
    relations and human resource policies, programs and practices in line with
    business plan and strategy.
  • Coordinate and supervise the
    implementation of approved human resource management and development
    policies, system and processes; ensure that HR function provide support
    and assistance required by line managers in implementing the policies and
    processes.
  • Monitor and evaluate the implementation of
    the approved human resource management and development policies,
    procedures and practices in all business units and ensure that pragmatic
    and consistent best work practices are adhered to.
  • Ensure implementation of staff recruitment
    processes, appraisal systems, staff training and development and
    compensation programs in line with company policies and procedures.
  • Provide practical advice to top management
    and line managers on all matters pertaining to human resource management,
    development and employee relations.
  • Ensure compliance with all laws and
    regulations related to employment as well as proper and effective
    implementation of staff welfare and industrial relations programs.
  • Provide effective leadership to a talented
    HR team and ensure that they are adequately equipped with critical and
    essential skills.
Qualifications, Skills &
Experience:
  • A University degree or professional
    qualification in human resource management from a recognized institution.
  • Membership of a relevant professional
    association is an advantage.
  • A minimum of ten years working experience
    part of which is acquired at a senior management level and covering all
    aspects of human resource management and development, programs and
    employee relations including negotiation with trade unions.
  • The ability to lead a talented HR team and
    to provide practical advice to top management and line managers is
    essential.
  • The ability to work closely with other
    senior managers and to balance professional practices with the commercial
    needs of the business is critical to success in this position.
  • Computer skills especially MS Office.
