Title: Deputy Executive Director

Summary: ICOBI wishes to
a Deputy Executive Director who will spearhead the mobilization of resources
portfolio for its Strategic plan and Implementation of existing programs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Deputize the
Executive Director in the day-to-day management, coordination and
implementation of the organization’s programs and projects - Initiate
programs that address organization needs for incorporation in the ICOBI
strategic plan and ensure to operationalize its strategies. - Take a
coordination role in the mobilization of resources for the organization
through proposal writing and fundraising drives from potential donors - Scrutinize
work plans and budgets developed by project officers and other sub-grantee
partners, advising them appropriately - Develop and
monitor operational budgets, ensuring smooth and timely flow of resources
to the beneficiaries and field activities. - Provide
technical guidance to ICOBI staff ensuring that quality reports and
accountabilities are prepared and submitted in time. - Effectively
represent the Executive Director at workshops and conferences and
participate in national and international level meetings. - Develop and
maintain networks with donors, partners’ agencies, government ministries
and districts for resource sharing. - Hold regular
projects review meetings with staff to evaluate activities’ progress and
provide feedback on performance - Coordinate the
preparation of papers for publication and dissemination in consultation
with the Executive Director. - Monitor
progress of projects’ deliverables and take a lead role in the preparation
of programmatic reports. - Carry-out any
other duty as may be assigned by the Executive Director.
Skills & Experience:
- A Bachelors
degree of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MB.chB) from a reputable
University. - A Masters
Degree in any of the relevant field to the organization business: Public
Health, Epidemiology and Biostatistics. Development Studies, Health
Services Management, Business Administration or any other related course. - Demonstrated
experience of managing a reputable organization at senior management level
preferably in an NGO setting. - Evidence of
strong program coordination and concrete understanding of HIV/AIDS issues
in Uganda and globally. - Strong
conceptual, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills. - A team player
and ready to work for long hours. - An attractive
