Job
Summary:
The Programme
officer – Agriculture and Business will deliver on agribusiness activities of
the program and technically support the program partners.
Key
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • You
    will be part of the Kitgum programs team and will participate actively in
    designing interventions and business models relevant for agribusiness development,
    providing timely and on-going capacity building and lead on partner
    granting processes.
  • You
    will create linkages with the private sector and other relevant
    stakeholders such as NARO, MAAIF and Local government agricultural offices
    , in order to delivering a effective services to agribusiness entities and
    actively participate in building a strong , effective and efficient
    multi-stakeholder platform of chain of actors .
  • Ensure
    timely reporting, track and monitor project outcomes, lessons, challenges
    and successes, Convene learning initiatives with partners, farmers and
    relevant actors to reflect on project /program successes, challenges and
    lessons.
  • Ensure
    women are at centre of all agribusiness initiatives and disaster risks and
    climate change are addressed in the programme.
Qualifications,
Skills & Experience:
  • A
    University degree in agribusiness development, agricultural economics,
    rural development, development studies or in a area of institutional development
    linked to agriculture.
  • You
    should have at least 5 years of relevant working experience preferably in
    rural areas.
  • Proven
    experience in value chain development and gender enterprise and markets.
  • You
    should have proven track record in provision of business development
    services to small and medium enterprises plus demonstrated experience in
    process facilitation and institutional development especially producers
    organizations. 
  • Extensive
    knowledge of gender and social inclusion concepts and governance for
    empowerment principles as well as an extensive understanding of
    Acholiland.
