The MRC/UVRI Uganda Virus Research Unit on AIDS was established following a
request in 1988 from the Uganda Government to the British Government for
collaboration on the research of HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) infection
and AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency.

epidemiological and intervention studies, clinical trials, virological and
immunological research and behavioral studies, clinical trials, virological and
immunological research and behavioral studies, and has generated a wealth of
research results that have been used to inform policy and practice, and that
have led to a large number of scientific publications in peer reviewed journals
over time.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Importation,
storage & preservation, preparation for administration, labeling to
preserve blinding, accountability & disposition of Investigational
Product. - Documentation
of procedures processes and events related to the Investigational Product - Developing
and maintaining pharmacy SOPs under supervision of the Pharmacist. - Importation,
inventory & dispensing of Approved Drugs. - Compliance
with ICH/GCP Guidelines. - Supervision
of junior staff.
Skills and Experience:
- BSc
in Pharmacy. - Training
or experience in clinical research an added advantage. - At
least 2 years of post-qualification professional experience. - Experience
in clinical trial setting is desirable. - Understanding
of ICH/GCP guidelines on human research - Computer
literacy with proficiency in word and excel are desirable. - Good
interpersonal/communications skills. - Fluency
in verbal and written English. - A
good understanding of Luganda. - Highly
organized, detail-oriented and self-motivated. - Ability
to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
